Dishes which I made

Tada... The first 2 photos featured a dessert known as 神仙甜品 which I made from a recipe book, together with the last photo, the golden purses. The chocolate pudding was created out of my cravings for more desserts. Initially I planned to make coffee pudding as well, but the chocolate pudding did not turn out well in the beginning, hence I gave up on the idea. I have no idea that pudding took so long to solidify. I thought something went wrong with my cooking or the gelatin powder, hence I 静观其变。 It turned out to be quite nice luckily.

Nice dessert with 1g of fat only

The new product which I saw in Women's weekly magazine has only 1 gram of fat and 56 calories per stick, how can I resist? Slurp! Cheers to Magnolia Yoghurt Petite! :D

When they are together...

The hamster must have been very exhausted after bathing. When I put it on the cat, it fell asleep again. The cat was very curious initially, leaning close to smell the hamster, then I said no to it and the cat turned its head away from the hamster. The cat changed its position later probably due to a stiff leg from the hamster's weight?

I carried the hamster and repositioned it on my cat's abdomen. It continued sleeping. The hamster woke up after some stroking and started to walk around. Upon seeing the toy banana, the hamster bit the banana, causing the cat to become curious towards the toy banana.

The cat smelled the toy banana to determine whether it was edible and hamster fell to the side. After the hamster scrambled to the toy banana and bit it again, the cat wanted to reconfirmed the banana was not edible.

Salad

I made salad with my mom and my dad. My mom cooked and peeled the prawns, while my dad cut the mangoes, and I did the rest.
The salad consisted of chicken shreds, potato cubes, cucumber slices, egg, prawns, mango slices and dressing. The dressing was a choice between mayonnaise and thousand island or both.

The chicken soup was created in order not to waste the water used to blanch the chicken meat. The chicken meat was put into the water that had been boiled with dates and wolfberries with a pinch of salt and continue to boiled until... erm... until... I was happy. It tasted quite nice, a side product while trying to create the salad.

Takeaway from Old Airport Road

Too much food again...
My dad and I went to Old Airport Road hawker centre to 打包 dinner for my family. He was tearing the coupons and asked me to go ahead and buy food for myself and my 2 sisters. I confirmed with him that he will only buy for himself and my mom before I left.

I went around and bought 老夫子char kway teow, Kallang wanton mee and when I was buying famous Old Airport Road 豪煎, my dad appeared with 2 super duper huge bags of food and asked me not to buy too much... I stared in shocked, but firmly told him I still have 727 cakerie's durian desserts to buy.

At home, we ended up not being able to finish what we bought, especially the 五香米粉 that my dad bought. There were so many bean curd inside which I would normally have eaten but just cannot enter into my mouth due to the partial consumption of the 4 items I bought. What a waste of food. Anyway, my mom was commenting that the food my dad bought was not nice after eating what I bought. :D The power of doing homework before buying...

Dining at 食堂 (しゅくどう)

Family and I went to dine at Shokudou, a unique place which functions almost like a food court. I find the food tasted not bad but it is slightly pricey. The macha float which I bought as shown in the picture cost $4.80 and the ice shavings were too coarse. The crab omelette tasted slightly better than that of pasir malam but cost $5.80 if I remembered correctly. It will not be a place which I will think of a re-visit.
