Ah Chew desserts

Honeydew with sago

Mango with pomelo

The desserts were nice, despite having mini ice balls inside which made the texture less smooth.

Backtrack - Hay's dairy

A backtrack entry due to my lethargy, this was a visit to Hay's Diary with my Dear dear.

We took the MRT train to Choa Chu Kang, and took bus to the location. The bus trip was really long, but at least it dropped us near our destination. We had fun feeding Alpine grass to the goats. There was a bit of musky smell in the paddock area, which reminded me of the goat milk I drank when I was young.

The goats were fun to watch and play with. There was one goat which made an "Ahhhh" sound that really resembled a human howling. Another escaped out for a few moments of excitement and fun.

Look at that goat! He was so heavy that each step he took made the ground shake as though the T-Rex escaped from Jurassic Park to the farm. He trotted along the path and greeted other goats as if to announce his smart escape to his fellow friends. However, his joy was short lived and once again, he was back into his pen.

Before we left the place, we bought a bottle of chocolate goat milk to try out. It tasted nothing like what was in the past. The taste was like HL chocolate milk, minus the sweetness, with the sweet aroma of chocolate. It was pleasant but a tad expensive compared to cows' milk in the market.

P.S.: I had my digital camera with me, but I forgot to check the battery level. When I reached there, I took 2 pictures and it displayed critical low level and auto shut down. What a disappointment, but it was my fault. Luckily, I still have a spare hand phone camera, even though the quality was poorer.

Jia Hao slimmed down :p

Pictures of Dom & Co. after watching the movie "Journey to the Centre of the Earth". We settled at KFC to chill out after the show.

The effects of gimp helped Jia Hao and I slimmed down. The effect seemed to be more significant in Jia Hao compared to the rest. Hope this will be a motivation for him to slim down in real life, but if he really don't feel like, well at least photos can be altered to look as though he gave up on his "nua"ness. :p

My humble shots of fireworks from my house window

National Day dinner

The main courses were cooked by me, using the recipe from the cookbook meant as a belated birthday present from my friends, Wenwei and Huiqing. Thank you to my friends once again. There were adaptations. I don't take mutton hence I used beef. Steaks were expensive and still are, hence used roast beef ham to substitute. This was still expensive in comparison to normal pork and chicken ham. I had a lot of red wine in my fridge and hence it came to be useful in making the sauce. The sauce was quite nice.

The tiramisu was bought from the Cold Storage at Leisure Park, from something Swiss company.
It tasted delicious, with the liqueur not overpowering the entire taste.

Dinner at Stonegrill

This was my first experience using stone to cook food, honestly, I don't really like it. The stone was really hot, big and bulky too, I was so scared to burn my fingers if I touch it accidentally. It made me feel cumbersome trying to navigate my fork and knife on the table.

The soup was not bad with the cheese bread (a surprise to me) and the chicken was average in my opinion. The appetizer which cost $2 was so hard that it made my bracket came off (that cost $20), so unlucky. The potato wedges came in a bowl covered with cheese. Probably due to my braces, these soft wedges appealed to me more than the rest.

Aerin and Qianhu

One fine day, My Dear dear and I decided to go for fish spa. We met at Raffles City to have lunch before going all the way down to Choa Chu Kang to take a shuttle bus to Qianhu.

At Raffles City, I saw Aerin restaurant and roughly recalled it being famous for some dish, but I cannot recall the what dish was that. Anyway, the food tasted decent and I ordered my carrot cake. It was famous for Apple pie or something along that line, and I missed it due to my forgetfulness.

The trip to Qianhu was quite fun. While waiting for the free shuttle bus, there was this old lady who waved her hands about to create way in between My Dear dear and me. We were like looking at her dramatic ways when there was so much space behind me and behind Dom. She purposely want to walk in between us, so we just let her through.
There was so many fishes at Qianhu (being a fish farm, it was expected). A few fishes left deep impression in my mind like the fairy kois (they really looked fairy like), the stingrays (they don't keep still) and the discus which were really colorful unlike what my mother used to had. The highlight was the fish spa, which was the main purpose too.

This was by far, the cheapest fish spa I can find, $10 per 1/2 hr. The sucking fishes which we were familiar given being shown on television were the smaller size. The big ones were scary in a sense. We saw them approaching and I wondered if their bite will engulf my whole toe...
they turned out to be extremely gentle and the image that formed in my mind was like we were king and queen with little servants serving us diligently (haha...). The experience was really fun and I did enjoyed myself a lot.

Japanese food at TM (Hokkaido fair)

Okay, this is a backlog clearing now.
The pictures were taken some time back. The first was a curry bun, followed in order from left to right - crab cream corochan, rice stuffed squids, japanese mochi balls in sweet sauce, with seaweed, with different fillings, sweet potato cake and a rice cake with red bean stuffings.

The squid rice thing was not really worth the queue, it tasted quite salty, other than that, not much special about it. I was a bit disappointed.
The curry bun was normal, but the lack of queue was sort of good.
The crab cream thing was very nice, despite no actual crab meat, the gravy is thick and fragrant. This was one of my favorite food of the Hokkaido fair.
The rest of the snacks were interesting, and those red beans were delicious. The sweet potato cake tasted really sweet potato-ish.

Anyway on my subsequent visit to TM again, I never buy any more of the Japanese food.

The cakes I bought from the Royals shop opposite the NTUC were such gems. They were really delectable. The carrot cake tasted fabulous and the tiramisu also stood out from the other tiramisus I tried in the past. The chocolate mint was nice but could have been better should there be a stronger hint of mint in the taste.

Putting real material into Inuyasha pic and edit his hairstyle

The first picture is the original. The second picture is with material collected from the web and added in. ( the part of hair on his head I have no idea how to edit in order to put in. ) The ears, I used Japanese spitz's ears and the eyes I used my cat's eyes. The necklace, I used black beads and dog's teeth. The hair, I used human white hair and clothes were with red and cream silk. Threads, I used a black thread. The third picture is just editing his hairstyle.

*Update* Erm... here is a more complete one, although I really have no idea about human skin and eyebrows.
