I slanted in the photo with my elder sister due to her ken ken.

Dear dear's birthday mini party
At the last minute, there was yet another change; the surprise was no longer there since in order to make Dear dear stay at home on the day itself, I lied to him saying I will be cooking for his family for lunch. They expected one person and well, Dear dear told me that every member of his house will eat when they heard that I will be cooking. That certainly gives pressure, and with Dom's dad, I am not sure if bread will be preferred to rice. Hence, the idea was changed again to Jon cooking 2 dishes and me cooking 2 dishes as well. The mini kebabs were made on my own on the thought of the guys' voracious appetites.
The soup was also prepared by Jon, with the help from Dom's mother. The whole cooking was done in laughter, in success... with a few hiccups such as Dear dear dropping an egg, as well as dropping like 1/6 of the tofu when opening. His actions invited hilarious roars of laughter from the rest of us.
Jon was extremely pleased to know that Dom's house still have a hamster, his favorite animal.
Anyway, the mini party idea came to me when I looked back on my past photos of birthday. The table filled with simple dishes and a cake with candles on seem appealing as well as heart-warming. I also hoped Dear dear can have this experience as well, hence I organized such a mini party. The effects were quite well, especially with my newly acquired Canon IXUS 860 IS to take pictures. :p
Due to me forgetting to bring along "Uno" cards, we had to trouble Dom to find a game for our after-lunch entertainment.
Anyway, due to the day being Father's Day as well, I had to rush back home to celebrate for my dad and the game was ended.
Sidetrack: Zihan was not being able to come due to miscommunication. Since the budget was calculated with 4 people instead of 3, I ended up not having enough money for transport and Dom has to reimburse me a little.
For a different perspective of the event, one can visit either Jon's entry or Jiahao's entry.

Belated Valentine's day celebration
We went to Harbourfront for lunch before proceeding to Labrador park for outing. At Harbourfront, dear dear bought me chocolates... how nice.
Unluckily, we forgotten to get some water to the nature reserve and I got so thirsty from erm... screaming at the spiders (too many big and small spiders were surrounding the path); one species moved very fast and, well, scared that it will land on me. Skinks (located on the right in the 4th picture) were common, and sighted one squirrel as well.
Oh and more unfortunate thing happened later. Meanwhile, we happened to see a drink vending machine near the toilets. However, even after quenching my thirst, my right foot was sprained from previous night and prolonged walking aggravated the pain. Hence, we decided to return another time to finish the exploration.
Here is the "goondu" part, I thought since bus no. 175 moved in that direction home, bus no. 61 should be able to go home in that direction as well. Sigh, same mistake on the same bus number. We took the wrong direction and ended up somewhere in Bukit Timah. Dear dear almost want to strangle me and knock me flat like roti prata. He asked me twice about the direction and I replied so confidently that it was going in the correct direction and oops, until I saw an opposite direction 61 that displayed "Eunos". My confidence waived. Too late, we ended up taking 985 at Jurong Kechil to reach back home.
Anyway, my thirst is quenched but the craving was still present and hence, the trip to NTUC to buy more drinks home. Dear dear ended up carrying a heavy load of drinks.
We exchanged cards and he gave a rose as well. Thank you, dear dear, for being so nice to me.

Happy Chinese New Year 2008
New year with new clothes on, Dear dear is wearing Bossini and I am wearing the brown dress from some shop in parkway which I cannot remember the name and the orange dress from M)phosis. :D
Minna, shinnen omedetou gozaimasu.
Many happy things happened meanwhile, such as talking to a friend whom we did not talk to each other since pri4, planting balsam and taking a funny picture of the hamster sleeping on the roof. May this year be fruitful? May my braces be removed soon as well? ;p
Not to forget, I have got a new bed sheet as well, one that I got to choose for myself.
Valentine's Day fell on Chinese New Year period as well, but I have yet to celebrate due to my mother's birthday falling on the same day as well. I guessed I can never celebrate V day on the day itself. It was saddening in a sense when walking on the streets, I turned left and saw couples happily together, I turned right and saw people selling roses, I looked straight and saw restaurants having V day promotions and even when I closed my eyes, I got to hear radio playing V day dedications. Sigh.

My 22nd birthday
Quite saddening, isn't it? In just a wink of eye, I became one year older... getting nearer to the 30s auntie age. Sigh... no matter how tiring is life, or work... there will bound to be happiness somewhere... something to look forward to... yea, my birthday celebration. :D
Alas, that day happened to fall on a Sunday which my F7 lecturer wanted to have class... from 2pm to 7pm +++... >_< "' and hence my celebration was pushed forward to Fri and Sat. My super nice dear dear, after my "constant reminder", bought my mom's present for me which was Baked Alaska log cake from Island creamery @ $28 and carried all the way to my house... :)

My family and dear played mahjong before cutting the cake. Wow... my dear improved a lot on his mahjong skill.
The Baked Alaska is very appropriately named, with the meringue as the top layer resembling the snow, the thick middle layer of ice-cream (super cold) resembling the thick ice beneath the snow and the cake as the land. The sweetness decrease from the meringue to the cake. The hardness increase in the same direction. Well, as for the red berries in between... hmmm... take them as carcasses buried in the ice waiting to be discovered someday.
On Sat, my dear and I went to Serangoon Garden to eat guo tie and kway chup. Our dessert was the infamous Alcoholic Anonymous from ICE³. While waiting for ICE³ to open, I bought a box of mini oranges. The oranges reminded me of a time when I was cooking at my dear's house, while preparing and cooking, my dear peeled these small oranges and put them in my mouth. Very sweet and romantic, though weird picture... :) The box suddenly gave way when we walked out of ICE³ and we ended up picking oranges on the pavement and roadside. A few were squashed and had to be forgo, but majority still went home, so never mind about that incident.
A lesson to learn is that next time when buying heavy loads of fruits, take 2 plastic bags over it to prevent unnecessary loss.

Terribly sick
I have been feeling terribly sick, starting from Mon at work in the evening when I felt slightly feverish. I went home and took panadol. After that I felt better but the next evening I felt the slight fever again. I bought one After Eight mini chocolate to relieve my stress at work while on the way home.
After dinner, my stomach felt very bloated and feel like vomiting and pang sai 'ing' but nothing come out either way. So, I asked bf for help. He suggested self-induced vomiting which I found quite gross, putting my finger into my mouth to dig. I tried to vomit by coughing, but very little vomit came out and my throat felt very sore. Went to rest on my bed and suddenly at eleven pm, I rushed to the toilet to puke continuously 4 times straight, so much stuff including my chocolate... rested a while then puked some more regardless of the medicine my mom gave me. I like puked altogether, including this morning, 8 times and lao sai 3 times when I puking in early morning. Felt so terrible that my whole body was shaking and I really felt like crying.
Went to the doctor today and he concluded that I have a bacteria/virus infection. After taking the medication I still felt dizzy and after dinner when I laid down on bed the rice felt like surging up my throat and now I feel like puking again but haven't occur so far. So miserable.

I almost died in a traffic accident just now!!!
As I was jay-walking, there was a path for me to stop before crossing the one lane road. I stopped to wait for the cars to pass (quite a heavy flow of cars) and then a van stopped in front of me, the men inside signaling me to pass (that kinda give way for you to walk) and fearing that they might caused a jam by stopping halfway like that, I walked.
Never did I realised that a motorcyclist does not think the same or get the hint to stop, he went beside the van and I couldn't see him until he almost knocked into me. Luckily I backed away just in time and suffer no injuries.
The motorcyclist seems worried as well as pissed... and he stopped at the road side to check if I'm okay. I felt very apologetic actually because even if I escaped uninjured, the motorist may injured himself trying to avoid hitting me.
So let me make a note to myself, next time don't ever cross the road until it is clear and not cross because others let me cross, they want me go and die, how?
So scary this incident I must say, it was a miss by a few seconds. Sigh... at least the motorist and I were not injured, phew. I am at fault in this case.

The weather is going haywire.
Look at the picture to your left. Very bad sign, looks like gonna have a thunderstorm... but no drop of rain at all, even though it is very cold and windy. Weird.
Today, weather seems fine and hence I never bring an umbrella out. While returning home from school, it rained and is funny because the Sun is so super scorching and yet still have raindrops on me. To add on, it is not drizzle but normal dose of rain.
What is happening to our weather?????!!! Scary.

Busy week while parents happy elsewhere...
Parents not at home... good? I really wonder...
Mother left for holidays in China just giving me more money and ask me take care of younger sister and inspect the maid as well when she come over to do household chores.
Today is the 6th day and the maid is coming over.
Morning still okay, get to watch vcd "Take the lead", after that went out with dear to buy ingredients to cook.
Mother left without telling me there was no oil... only saying there is vegetables in the fridge, can cook instant noodles...
Sigh... have to buy oil, and also realized that almost 90% of the vegetables in the fridge is spoilt and the rest 10% I dunno how to cook.
The oil is like on offer 5 liters plus 1 liter free! That is super duper heavy, but luckily my dear dear help me carried while I carried lighter stuff like soya bean milk, crabstick and mixed vegetables.
Had rice, fish fillet in orange juice (frozen fish fillet plus orange juice stir-fry) and clam chowder (canned soup) for lunch. After that, rest, while the maid cleaned the house (vacuum and mop floor, also wash toilets), and cooked fried rice for my sisters' dinner.
Nice? As can be seen from the photo, very satisfied but I only had one tablespoon to test the saltiness. Boyfriend also helped by cutting the ingredients like crab sticks, sausages, mushrooms and add the oil and soya light when required. :D Thank you, dear dear.
After that went Bugis to buy bread for tomorrow breakfast and have dinner at Mos burger as well. The bread Mother left I think expired... sigh.

Feeling Kinda stressed?
Due to some problems with my exams registration, I have been busy and feeling down for some time. From the beginning bearing so much hopes in taking 4 papers, the excitement about the challenge, to now, hopes dashed when I realized that I can only take up to 3 papers for taking computer-based exams due to an uninformed policy.
Actions have been taken but I never get what I initially started out to get, even though I'm being compensated.
Furthermore, I discovered another hole in one of my tooth, even small, it's worrying. Very sad, have to wait a month to see the dentist which I hoped my situation does not worsen.
My Japanese lessons as well... paid the course fees, turned up as emailed and find not a single soul in the room. Quite embarrassing asking around and getting answers like " Did you get the wrong day?" and "Not sure." and when I returned home to double check the email, there was no error on my part... hmmm now waiting for reply...
My hard and dark period will be over soon... I wished.

Although a few did not turn up last minute, I still enjoyed due to those who came. Thanks a lot.
The funny part was that I don't have ear holes because I am too scared of ear hole infection and pain, yet a few friends sent me ear rings. :p I don't think I can wear for now, maybe 6, 7 years down the road I may reconsider... so late lo, I will stop here.
